Connecting your Elon Smart Water to your Wi-Fi network enables you to monitor and control your water heating system remotely, manage energy usage, and receive real-time alerts. Follow these simple steps to get your device connected and make the most of its smart features.

Step-by-Step Guide to Connect Elon Smart Water to Wi-Fi

(1) Install the Elon Smart App

(2) Add Your Thermostat to the App

  • Tap the (+) button at the bottom right corner of the app’s home screen to add your thermostat.

  • Scan the QR code attached to the inside of your distribution board (DB) or on the thermostat itself. Make sure the QR code is clear and in focus on your device screen.

(3) Access Configuration Settings

  • Once the thermostat is added, tap the Configure button (represented by a hammer and spanner icon) next to your thermostat on the app screen.

  • Follow the on-screen prompts to switch your phone’s Wi-Fi connection to the Smart Thermostat’s hotspot.

(4) Select Your Home Wi-Fi Network

  • The app will search for available Wi-Fi networks. Choose your home Wi-Fi network from the list.

  • Enter the Wi-Fi password and tap Test Connection. If the connection is successful, the app will take you back to the configuration screen.

(5) Set Up the Address

  • Tap the right arrow (>) next to the address field.

  • The app will connect to the server and display a list of addresses corresponding to your location. (Please note: You might need to switch on your phone's GPS and allow the app to use your location services.)

  • Select the correct address and save the settings.

(6) Finalise Configuration

  • Set a name for your thermostat for easy identification within the app.

  • Configure the temperature set points for solar and grid heating. A recommended setting is 65°C for solar and 50°C for grid, optimising both comfort and energy savings.

  • Select your preferred heating profile, such as “Solar Only” to prioritise solar energy usage.

Troubleshooting Tips

  • Can’t connect? Ensure your router is set to 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band as the thermostat does not support 5 GHz.

  • App not updating? Make sure your phone is connected to the internet and within the Wi-Fi range of the thermostat. Restart the app if necessary.

  • Security Settings Issue? If your router uses an outdated security protocol, set it to WPA2 to ensure compatibility.
