The Elon Smart Thermostat offers several heating profiles to help you balance energy efficiency, cost savings, and comfort. Each profile automatically manages how and when your geyser uses solar and grid power.

A green rating (from 0โ€“5 leaves) shows how environmentally friendly and solar-efficient each profile is.
โ€‹
๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ = most efficient (solar-only)
๐ŸŒฟ = least efficient (grid-only)

Solar Only (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: Maximum solar efficiency
โ€‹Description:
Get the absolute most out of your hot water system by using only solar power. The geyser will never use grid power automatically. You can still manually boost with grid power if needed.

Evening Shower (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: People who shower mainly in the evening
โ€‹Description:
This efficient profile uses solar energy during the day and adds a small grid boost in the late afternoon (17:00โ€“19:00) if the water temperature drops below your target grid setting. Ideal for evening routines and cloudy days.

Morning Shower (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: Early risers and morning showers
โ€‹Description:
Heats water with grid power in the early morning (03:00โ€“05:00) to ensure hot water after overnight use.
During the day, solar power reheats the water to the solar temperature target.
Tip: Set your solar target to 65ยฐC to reduce nighttime heat loss.

Morning & Evening Shower (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: Homes with both morning and evening usage
โ€‹Description:
Provides flexibility by using solar power whenever available, with grid heating in the early morning (03:00โ€“05:00) and late afternoon (17:00โ€“19:00) to reach the grid temperature target.

Eco Grid (๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: Homes without solar panels
โ€‹Description:
Limits the geyserโ€™s temperature to 50ยฐC to save electricity and reduce heat loss.
This profile can cut your water heating costs by up to 15% while ensuring basic comfort.
Default Profile: All new thermostats start in Eco Grid mode until you choose another profile.

Grid Only (0)

Best for: Non-solar homes
โ€‹Description:
Uses grid power only for heating. Ideal if you donโ€™t have solar panels.
You can also use the Eco Grid or Custom Grid Heating Schedule for more efficient control.

Holiday Mode (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: When youโ€™re away
โ€‹Description:
Switches the geyser off completely to prevent any energy use while youโ€™re not at home.
All other thermostat features remain available.

Custom Grid Heating Schedule (๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒฟ)

Best for: Users who want full control
โ€‹Description:
Create your own custom grid heating timers to match your lifestyle.
You can set up to 10 timers and 10 profiles for personalised heating control.
Tip: Donโ€™t overthink itโ€”just find a balance between comfort and savings that works for you.
